Rilsan® Coatings

It is exceptionally light, since its density is only 1.03 g/m³, which makes it lighter than other polyamides, POM, PPS and PVDF.

This polymer stands out for its exceptional chemical resistance not only against fats and hydrocarbons, but also against acids and salts, which makes it ideal for applications that require resistance to extreme temperature and pressure conditions.

Compared to other materials and polyamides, Rilsan® stands out for its remarkable flexibility, which is achieved thanks to the inclusion of plasticizing agents, microspheres and fiberglass or carbon in its composition.

Due to its molecular structure with a high frequency of amine groups, polyamide 11 (PA11) is more hydrophilic compared to other polyamides. This makes Rilsan® an excellent choice for use in high humidity environments and in applications where there is a need to absorb polar liquids such as alcohols, acids and esters.

Compared to polyamide 12 (PA12), Rilsan® shows almost twice the impact resistance, which is due to its hardness and elasticity, especially at low temperatures. The hardness of the material is due to its spherolitic and crystalline structure, as well as its molecular weight and molecular weight distribution.

The low friction property of Rilsan® contributes to its ability to resist abrasion. In addition, the smooth finish of this polymer reduces the coefficient of friction, which translates into greater resistance to abrasion compared to other materials.
