Xylan® Coatings

Xylan® coatings primarily function as dry lubricants but they also possess numerous additional beneficial properties. These lubricants are combined with cutting-edge high-temperature organic polymers, resulting in plastic alloys with unique properties. As a result, Xylan® coatings can withstand heavy loads, high temperatures, and chemical and corrosive environments.

These coatings can be applied in one or multiple layers, either in conventional or reinforced systems. In general, some of their main properties include:

• Low coefficient of friction
• Wear resistance
• Resistance to corrosion and chemical agents in most environments
• Resistance to both direct sunlight and seawater
• Operating temperature range between -250ºC and 285ºC
• Wide range of colors
• High flexibility
• Good machinability
• A curing schedule
• Excellent adhesion to most substrates

Xylan® coatings are based on a combination of fluoropolymers such as PTFE, PFA, and FEP. These different compositions allow for tailoring the performance of the coatings to various uses and specific industries, such as household items, industrial baking, automotive, and even the oil and gas industry. Each composition offers distinct characteristics that meet the needs and demands of each particular sector.
