Emralon® coatings

Emralon® products are a line of dispersions that contain PTFE, graphite and molybdenum disulfide, which gives them lubricating properties and excellent resistance to corrosion and solvents. In addition, they have a low coefficient of friction. These dispersions have a wide range of curing temperatures, which allows them to be used on wood, rubber, metals, and plastics.

Properties and benefits of Emralon® Coatings

Emralon® coatings have properties that make them highly resistant to the adhesion of liquids and solids, making them an excellent option for protecting surfaces. In general, its thickness ranges from 15 to 35 microns. In addition, they present outstanding thermal behavior, since they are capable of withstanding cryogenic temperatures up to -250°C and intermittent temperatures of more than 300°C. These coatings are also known for their dielectric strength and their ability to withstand friction and abrasion, even exceeding 1,000 cycles in the Tabor abrasion test.

The most common applications of Emralon® products are:

  • Seat belt components
  • Interior parts of vehicle assembly
  • Carburetor shafts
  • Mechanisms
  • Locksmith
  • Guides or sliding rails
  • Nautical equipment
  • Valve caps
  •  Parts of spray guns
  • Blades for cutting and shearing
  • Screws
