They form long chains by joining to each other, being the base of materials, such as wood or leather. Given their importance, they have always been the object of study, managing to understand their composition and achieving artificial synthesis to obtain materials with specific <strong>electrical<\/strong>, <strong>mechanical<\/strong>, and <strong>physical properties<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Types of polymers<\/h2>\n<h3>According to their origin<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Natural polymers<\/strong><br \/>\nThere is a great diversity of polymers in nature forming proteins or rubber for example<\/li>\n<li><strong>Semi-synthetic polymers<\/strong><br \/>\nObtained through the transformation of natural polymers<\/li>\n<li><strong>Synthetic polymers<\/strong><br \/>\nObtained from the choice of monomers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>According to their applications<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Elastomers<\/strong><br \/>\nCan be deformed under stress, recovering their initial shape. Ex: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.praimer.com.br\/en\/fluoropolymer\/\">fluoropolymer<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Adhesives<\/strong><br \/>\nAllows two surfaces to be joined by means of adhesion and cohesion<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fibers<\/strong><br \/>\nHigh flexibility, allowing for stable fabrics<\/li>\n<li><strong>Plastics<\/strong><br \/>\nThey offer a material that deforms without returning to the initial state<\/li>\n<li><strong>Coatings<\/strong><br \/>\nMaterial that adheres to surfaces to obtain additional properties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>According to its temperature behaviour<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Thermostable<\/strong><br \/>\nThey offer stable materials in high temperature conditions. They are infusible and insoluble polymers that compact more when the temperature rises<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thermoplastic<\/strong><br \/>\nThey offer materials that can be deformed at high temperatures, they are flexible materials.
